Glory be! Tickets are now on sale for The Book of Mormon, the musical collaboration between South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q composer and co-creator Robert Lopez. Previews for the world premiere production will begin on February 24, 2011, at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre, with opening night on March 24. The show will be co-directed by Parker and Broadway vet Casey Nicholaw.
This new musical tells the tale of a pair of mismatched Mormon missionaries—played by The Daily Show correspondent Josh Gad and Jersey Boys alum Andrew Rannells—who are sent off to spread the word in a place that’s about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get: Uganda. Their story is told alongside that of Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints.
Audiences are sure to flock to The Book of Mormon, so get your tickets for this hot new tuner today!
